Memorandum of Understanding between the ACDR and ABA with the aim of joint efforts, coordination and establishment of relations between the two parties in order to provide services on the settlement of disputes to ABA, development of Afghanistan’s economy through resolving disputes and increase awareness of members of the commercial and economic communities of country about services and mechanisms of alternative commercial dispute resolution, was signed.

Mr. Tawakol Khorram, Executive Director of ACDR, pointed to the role of construction companies in the development and prosperity of the country's economy and stressed the importance of alternative methods of resolving commercial disputes for members of the ABA. He added “ACDR, as the sole institution which is resolving the commercial disputes in the country, shall try to prioritize disputes related to the members of ABA and support the association members in development of commercial contracts.”

Mr. Eng. Hamidullah Habibi, ABA CEO, praised the role of alternative dispute resolution in Afghanistan and promised “ABA shall encourage its members to refer their disputes to ACDR to resolve them via alternative dispute resolution mechanism.”

Based on MoU, both parties are committed to organize events about ADR (arbitration and mediation) as well as provide legal advices regarding the commercial dispute resolution to the members of ABA.
